It would take marijuana in a similar manner to alcoholic beverages.
The bill is the first of it's kind in California and would allow taxed sales to adults over the age of 21.
Under Ammiano's proposal, marijuana would be taxed at a rate of $50 per ounce. It's estimated that tax could generate $1 billion into state coffers. SOURCE...
